Elevated BUN to Creatinine Ratio: Sensitivity and Specificity

Introduction: Serum BUN (blood urea nitrogen) to serum creatinine ratio. Generally >15 is indicative of prerenal renal failure or upper GI bleed, though there are other causes such as excessive protein turnover.
