Hypotension: Sensitivity and Specificity
Introduction:
Hypotension is obviously a critical life-threatening symptom, signifying shock. To distinguish between the principle (categories of) causes of hypotension, examine the extremities! Warm extremities means hyperdynamic, i.e. septic, whereas cold extremities means cardiogenic or hypovolemic.
